North Campus, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, October 30th 2017: Vladimir Shamakhov, President of Russian North-West Institute of Management, paid a visit to GDUFS with a delegation. SUI Guangjun, General Secretary and President of GDUFS, signed a cooperation agreement with the institute on behalf of the Guangdong Institute for International Strategies (GIIS). JIAO Fangtai, Vice President of GDUFS, received the guests in the VIP Hall of the Administrative Building.

During the meeting, Vladimir Shamakhov mentioned the exchange activities with the foreign students and scholars at GDUFS, and hoped that this visit can improve the efficiency and quality of the cooperation between the two sides. He then expressed the hope to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in four areas. The first is the Double Diploma Project, which is hoped to be implemented next year. The second is to strengthen the communication and cooperation between the think tanks of the two sides. The third is to carry out the cooperation projects of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and the Arctic Region. The fourth is to research the urgent international issues with GIIS together.
JIAO Fangtai first strongly agreed with Vladimir Shamakhov. He then pointed out that GDUFS can promote the communication between the students and scholars of the two sides and further strengthen the cooperation of think tanks in the future with the advantages of international education and cooperation with another dozen Russian universities. He also believed that the cooperation between two campuses will be effective and comprehensive. In the meantime, he welcomed the students of North-West Institute of Management to study Chinese as well as other majors at GDUFS.
CAI Hong, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange; YANG Ke, Dean of the Faculty of European Languages and Cultures; LIANG Xuehong, Dean of the Institute for International Education, and LI Qing, Secretary General of GIIS, also attended the meeting.
JIAO Fangtai received the delegation in the VIP Hall
