May 29th--A delegation from Georgia Institute of Technology paid a visit to GDUFS to participate in an arranged Dialogue activity called US Alliance and China's Rise. The delegation consists of ten college students and Professor Garver, and ten Chinese students from three different faculties of GDUFS constitute the Chinese side to exchange views with those American counterparts.
The Youth Dialogue began with an opening remark from Professor Garver, and then students from both sides were given 20 minutes to state their views on the understanding of US Alliance and China's rise. They raised questions concerning economy, politics, culture and some prominent social problems. Thereafter, they had a heated discussion and debate, all of which went in a harmonious atmosphere. In the end, American delegation also answered the questions given by the audience and the splendid answers pushed the Dialogue to the highlight.
After the Dialogue, American students also received the interview from the social media and students' group. They all stated that this Dialogue had greatly furthered their mutual understanding and built up their mutual trust. One of the American students also quoted the saying of President Nixon 30 years ago: I believe two vastly different countries could meet on the ground of mutual trust and common interest. Sino-US relationship enjoys a promising future.
