On the evening of October 29th, the World Cultural Festival Gala was held on the north campus at GDUFS to celebrate the 7th World Cultural Festival and 50th Anniversary of GDUFS.

At the beginning of the gala, LIANG Xuehong, the principle of the Institute for International Education, showed his deep gratitude to all attendees. He reported some information about preparation of the alumni association, and then announced its commencement.
Spanish dancing
One World, One Heart, performed by students from different countries, showed optimism of young blood and the multicultural atmosphere of GDUFS. This fantastic hip-pop attracted all of the audience and was cheered by stormy applause. Following was Fashion Show. Students from the Institute for International Education dressed in their own traditional clothes and represented their countries. From Eastern cultures to Western cultures, this show opened a window for the audience to experience all these different countries.
Group dancing
Though they had different nationalities, students had a great interest in Chinese and they sang tutties: Jasmine and Friends. The sweet singing was accompanied with piano and guitar, and encouraged the audience to clap their hands with the beat. Then students from Peru, Thailand, Australia and the Ukraine all showed their traditional cultures by dancing and singing, earning prolonged applause.
Japanese dancing
Japanese students performed Yosakoi and Soran-Bushi, which were often danced by Japanese fishermen. Dressed in Japanese style clothes, students shouted chants and danced as there were trawling. Chinese culture was also represented on the stage. Legend of Loong, performed by Guangmaoyuan, mixed several kinds of Chinese martial arts including Taiji and Wu. Some audience even whistled due to their wonderful performance.
The short sketch If You Are the One adapted from a popular Chinese blind date show brought down the house for its well-designed plot and humor Chinese catchwords. All the performers, international students from eight different countries,spoke fluent Chinese in a flexible use of Chinese poems, proverbs and buzz words.

Yemen students performed Arabs Married Dance. Audiences were immersed in the festive melody and the bright costumes. The splendor never stopped on the stage. Russian girls happily danced and sang in their traditional dresses as if they went back in their homeland in the snowy winter, frolicking and chasing each other. Korean culture has hit the world.
Korean students at GDUFS brought this wave, Storming the World, to the hall. Their wonderful performance won storms of applause and cheers everywhere and some audiences even stood up echoing and swaying to the rhythmic music. The gala came to a climax here! International students of different races from all corners of the world jumped on the stage, rocking together with their national flags in hand. Their performance embodied the themes tonight perfectly: delightful reunion and embracing another miracle. Although we have different cultures, beliefs and come from different places, we are here, at GDUFS, as a family. We break the boundaries, share our knowledge and thoughts and make effort to realize our dreams. The gala ended with a tutti, the university anthem: Feng Ming Ling Nan.
Singing
After the show, we interviewed some performers and viewers. “The show was very awesome, even better than last year! I really enjoyed performing on the stage.” “I am totally on a high!
