On the afternoon of April 25th, the Asian Education Delegation from South Moravia, Czech Republic visited the south campus of GDUFS. They were met by President ZHONG Weihe, Vice President FANG Fanquan and other important directors at GDUFS. During the meeting, they had a profound conversation and discussed further plans about education improvement as well as international cooperation.

At the beginning, President ZHONG gave a brief introduction about the history, characteristics and development of GDUFS. He emphasized that GDUFS has always tried its best to reinforce the strength in foreign language education and internationalization. With the increasingly frequent communication between Czech Republic and China, ZHONG added that Czech language major has become a priority for GDUFS.
ZHONG received the gift
There is a close link between Czech Republic and Guangdong Province in economic communication, and translation talents in Czech language are badly needed. Hence ZHONG looked forward to building a partnership with academic institutions in Czech Republic, which contributed to the establishment of the first major in Czech language study in southern China. In addition, GDUFS is going to send a delegation to Masaryk University and other universities in Czech Republic from June to September, seeking opportunities to cooperate with them.
Deputy President of Masaryk University, which is one of the oldest universities in Czech Republic, said that Masaryk University paid great attention to the foreign trade orientation that GDUFS has laid much emphasis on. Thus she expects opportunities to work with GDUFS in several research fields.
After this, the Director of International Talents in South Moravia State announced their plan to set up Czech Republic Centers all around the world so as to cultivate talents exceeding in Czech language and proceeding international communication. He stressed that the purpose of setting up Czech Centers is to attract talents who have a good command of Czech language to work in Czech Republic. Meanwhile, he showed his anticipation of co-building Czech Republic Centers with GDUFS. President of Brno University in Science and Technology, the largest university in science and technology in Czech Republic, along with the head of the delegation presented their warm welcome to overseas students from GDUFS and also expressed his expectation of sharing teacher resources between the two universities.
