On March 24th, Pascal BONIFACE, French Geo-politician and Dean of the University of International Relations and Policies of France, visited our university. During his visit, he delivered a speech with the topic of The Geopolitics of Sports to the teachers and students from the French Department of the Faculty of European Languages and Cultures. JIAO Fangtai, Vice President of GDUFS, conducted a friendly meeting with BONIFACE, Bertrand FURNO and other members of the Consulate General of the Republic of France in Guangzhou in the VIP Hall of the Administration building.

JIAO Fangtai introduced the general teaching situation of GDUFS, concentrating on the tremendous strength of our French major among the universities all over China. He stated that our university has been maintaining a friendly and long-standing relationship with a few French universities in terms of exchange visits and academic research. Therefore, he expressed his sincere gratitude towards the Consulate General of the Republic of France for their great support in the development of French teaching at our university. He also expressed his anticipation that China and France will strengthen cooperation in the field of sports and education.

Bertrand FURNO said that this was his fourth visit to GDUFS, during which he witnessed the extraordinary strength and achievements of the teaching. In BONIFACE’s lecture, students from the French Department performed excellently. Mr. BONIFACE highly commended the students in the French Department and proposed that further cooperation should be made in exchanging students between GDUFS and French universities.
