On 20thAugust, 2017, the closing ceremony of Asia Summer Program 2017(hereinafter referred to as ASP) was held at the library lecturehall of NorthCampus,Guangdong University of Foreign Studies,Guangzhou,China. Prof. Kim Jungsun, Vice President of Dongseo University, Korea,Pro.HE Chuantian, Vice President of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Mr. WUJunfeng, Vice Director of International Office, Mr. Liang Xuehong, Dean ofInstitute for International Education, Prof.WANG Fenglan and Ms. WU Yan, DeputyDeans of Institute for International Education, were present at the ceremony.
Vice President HE Chuantian pointed out in his address thatunder the guidance of the core spirit of ASP, and with featured internationaland multicultural environment of both the University and the City, this year’sprogram has provided a series of lectures and activities conducted in English,which enhance a better understanding of China and its traditional culture and promotebetter cultural exchanges. The success of this year’s program couldn’t havebeen achieved without the support from the ASP founding members, AUPF membersand GDUFS’s faculty, staff and students. Hewished the ASP 2018 hosted by DongseoUniversitywould be a great success.

Both of them reflected that this program enabled them tomeet different people and experience different cultures whichwill be cherishedas wonderful lifetime memories.

Featured Courses of ASP 2017
Fifteen courses related tosubjects from Chines culture, film studies to thinking skills and technology issueswere offered by the faculty participants. The participating students made arigorousselectionof courses which carry academic creditsthat can be transferred totheir respective universities upon completion of the three-week program.Moreover,in order for all the participants to know better about Chinese culture, cultureexperience activities such as Chinese calligraphy and traditional dancing were offered to the students .
LIANG Xuehong, Dean of Institute forInternational Education chaired the meeting for the instructors and studentreprestintives .He briefed on the Universityand the preparatory work for thisyear’s ASP on,At the Q&A session, LIANG Xuehong answered all the questionsraised by students and the instructors and all the students .
Field trips included enterprise visits and Guangzhou City tour. For the enterprises Country Garden Headquarters in Shunde, Guangzhou Pearl River Beer breweryCompanyand Florential Village.
The City Tour mainly covered such featuredscenic spots as Guangdong Provincial Museum, Chen Clan Academy, LingnanImpression and Five-Ram Sculpture, all of which are a brilliant integration of modern scenic spots and historic sites.
Recreational Activities
Teamwork –based games were designed for groups to foster better friendship and team spirit.
The Participating students made performances on the stage and demonstrated their traditional culture in their own booths.
