As the enchanting fragrance of autumn air spread through the campus, excited whispers and anticipated footsteps crowded the narrow path leading to the Grand Yunshan Hall. Laughter, cheers and whistling: an audience from all around the world gathered for all one spectacle of wonder. And as thunderous applause rang against the ceiling, the aurora of the 10th International Cultural Gala fell on the evening of October 25th 2018 on North Campus, GDUFS.
The Legacy, the Ever Glowing
Light streaked across the stage as the International Fashion Show began; dancers of various nations emblazoned the night as music pulsed through every corner of the hall. The cheering audience rose from their seats when the models passed. Pacing forward elegantly, the models from all over the globe dressed up in the traditional costumes of their countries, revealing confident smiles contented with shimmers of pride. The silent praise for the legacy of all peoples and ever glow of history filled the hall with enthusiasm.

The atmosphere ignited as LIANG Xuehong, Dean of Institute for International Education, spread sincere wishes for the promising future of GDUFS. Counting backwards all together in roaring yells, the audience burst out in thunderous applause and cheers as the grand feast was announced to inauguratethe occasion.
In our Wave, in our Wake
Freestyle flipping, hip-hop breaking and music popping, cheers rolled across the hall as dancers hit the beats. And as the chasing lights faded into a pitch mysterious pitch-black, the music of A Glass of Shoch ugently comforted all the raised heartbeats. Swinging along to the soul-soothing lyrics, the audience fell into the tale of music.
Dancing and cheering along to amusing Indian songs, performers from India won wild laughter. And as beams of light faded, a roar of sonorous yells brought Muras onto the stage. Stunned by the exquisite combination of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, eyebrows raised wildly again as young Chinese performers rushed into their sights in bold KungFu Costumes. There was no relief of breath as swords danced and blazes flipped — the performance of The Legend of Choileefa was such a blast of martial arts.
The legacy of China stunned the audience
Swaying elegantly along to vigorous beats, the silky hemlines of Vietnamese dancers waved all those surging emotions away in the airy atmosphere. And as beautiful melodies and meaningful lyrics contented the audience with a graceful sense of delight, performers from Sudan and Columbia won an outburst of praise.
As graceful notes escaped from the fingertips of the Japanese pianist; as stunningPoland girls amazed the audience with the lingering aftertaste of their heavenly voices; and as all those Thailand dancers ruled the stage, thunderous applause awoke the campus.
Audience stretched their necks when they heard fluent Chinese spoken by students of various nations in a short sketch. Focusing on a sales recruitment, the performance heated up the air with the appearance of various popular Chinese jokes multiplying.

The hall was ignited as passionate dancers from Spain kicked a giant inflatable football in bold red down to the ebullient crowd. And as arms were busy reaching for the floating ball and happiness was passed on, enthusiastic Togolese performers stunned the guests with dances praising the beating, vigorous soul of Africa.

The aurora of the gala woke the night
Rounds of applause and bravos rushed through the hall when blazing performers from Russia and Korea woke the stage. Despite the coming ending of the unforgettable show, all faculty members rose from their seats as the beautiful chorus of the university anthem lingered around the campus.
We’ll Never Say Goodbye
And autumn breeze gently washing through, the audience emerged from the hall still seemed to be lost in the ever-glowing aurora of the flashing night. All those cheers and whistles and laughter and yells might fade away with the chilly breeze, yet the beating souls and shimmering friendship of all those vigorous nations will last. We’ll never say farewell, not with our anthems as a eulogy.
