North Campus, December 19th 2018: Adam Bralczyk, Polish Consul General of Guangzhou, visited GDUFS with his team. SHI Youqi, President of GDUFS, greeted the guests in the Reception Hall ofthe Administration Building. The two sides exchanged ideas on the Polish language and the cultural exchange between China and Poland.
The meeting went well
SHI Youqi expressed his warm welcome to the delegation from Poland and made a brief introduction of GDUFS, including the construction of its Polish major. He pointed out that the Polish major was first set up in 2014 at GDUFS. GDUFS is the first in China and the third the south China whose Polish undergraduate professional teaching point was approved by the Ministry of Education. Great achievements have been made in student training and cooperation since the establishment of the Polish major. In recent years, GDUFS has maintained good relations with the Polish Consulate General in Guangzhou. GDUFS is grateful to the Consulate General of Poland in Guangzhou for supporting the construction and development of Polish language in our school. It is hoped that through this visit, the two sides will continue their friendly, cooperative relationship in order to promote the Polish language and the cultural exchange between China and Poland.
Adam Bralczyk expressed his gratitude for the welcome of GDUFS. He said that the development of Polish language majors in GDUFS has developed rapidly, and the training of Polish professionals has not only promoted the economic and trade exchanges in South China, but also promoted the development of cultural exchanges between the two countries. The Consulate General of Poland in Guangzhou will continue to provide support and assistance for the construction of Polish language in GDUFS, and hopes to cooperate more with GDUFS in terms of culture and education.
Both sides looked forward to better cooperation
After the meeting, the "2018 Polish National Reading Day" was held in GDUFS. Teachers and students have read the Polish classics "Przedwiosnie" and other activities with the Polish Consulate General in Guangzhou to deepen theirunderstanding of Polish culture.
Representatives of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and Faculty of European Languages and Cultures also attended the meeting.
