North Campus, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, April 14, 2019: Melih Bora KERİMOĞLU, Consul General of Turkey in Guangzhou, visited GDUFS with his team. JIAO Fangtai, vice president of GDUFS, met the guests at the VIP Hall in the Administration Building. The two sides discussed future cooperation and the construction of the university’s Turkish program. After the meeting, Melih Bora KERİMOĞLU and his team had a talk with Turkish language teachers and students from GDUFS.
Frienly talk between two sides
JIAO Fangtai welcomed the delegation and briefly introduced the university, including its history, educational scale and basic information about its programs of international cooperation. JIAO indicated that GDUFS is a university with distinctive international features, committed to the cultivation of international talent. In addition, he introduced the school’s Turkish major and history of exchange between Turkish universities and GDUFS. JIAO also said that GDUFS considered the cooperation with Turkish universities to be of great importance, and expressed his thankfulness to the Turkish Consulate General in Guangzhou for its support. He hoped that through this visit of the Consul General, GDUFS will continue to establish contacts with Turkish universities, and boost deeper cooperation in terms of exchanged of teachers and students and research development.
Melih Bora KERİMOĞLU expressed his gratitude for GDUFS’s warm welcome, and recognition and agreement were given to the construction of the Turkish major in GDUFS. He pointed out that the Consul General of Turkey in Guangzhou will continue to support the development of the university’s Turkish major. He hoped that the two sides would strengthen exchange and cooperation in the future between teachers and students, student employment, etc. The Consul General of Turkey in Guangzhou is willing to build a cooperative relationship with GDUFS and research institutions in Turkey.
Relevant leaders of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Faculty of Asian Languages and Cultures, and Institute for International Education also attended the meeting.
