Baiyun Mountain Campus, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, April 18, 2023: On April 18, Liu Yongcheng, chairman of the Macau Management Association and a council member of the Macau Institute of Management, visited GDUFS together with his delegation. Shi Youqi, party secretary and president of GDUFS, along with Jiao Fangtai, vice president of the university, welcomed the guests in the VIP Lounge of the Baiyun Mountain Campus administration building. During the discussion, the two sides shared their views on discipline construction, personnel training and resource sharing.

The Meeting Site

Shi Youqi introduced the history of our university, as well as its situation concerning international personnel training and platform construction. According to Shi, with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) playing an important strategic role in the new development paradigm of China, our school has committed to cooperation with universities and establishments of organizations in the bay area such as the Portuguese Union, Confucius Institutes Cooperative University Alliance of GBA, and others, and the strategic cooperation framework agreement signed by GDUFS and MIM last year has laid a good foundation for future cooperation. Shi hopes that the two schools can realize their potential when it comes to source-sharing, making use of their complementary advantages, and capitalize on their joint promotion through further partnership in personnel training, which will contribute to the construction of GBA.

Liu Yongcheng praised GDUFS’ achievements in international construction, foreign-related rule-of-law personnel training, and other areas. Liu noted that the two schools share the same expectations towards discipline construction, personnel training and scientific collaboration. He also expects the two sides to seize the opportunities of the 30th anniversary of the Macao Basic Law and the development of the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Co-operation Zone in Hengqin, to continue their history of friendly exchange, and to further their contributions to the development of education in the Guangdong-Macao area.
