Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) is a key university in South China with distinctive international characteristics. It is one of the earliest universities in China to be qualified for teaching Chinese as a foreign language and is the eligible receiving institution for the Chinese Government Scholarship, International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship, and Guangdong Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship. With a 40-year history of international education, GDUFS boasts an excellent teaching team and extensive experience in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. To strengthen international students' academic foundation and capabilities, improve their test-taking skills for the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) for International Students, and provide some undergraduate bridging courses, we are now enrolling students for the International Foundation Program.
Autumn Semester 2026: September 3, 2026 - December 31, 2026;

Eligibility
Qualified international students expecting to improve their learning abilities, academic proficiency, and test-taking skills for the CSCA through a preparatory program, in preparation for applying for undergraduate studies in China.
Foundation Programs
The Foundation Programs include Chinese-taught Liberal Arts Foundation Program and the English-taught Liberal Arts Foundation Program.

After being admitted to our undergraduate program via the CSCA, the featured courses of the foundation program can be used to offset the corresponding undergraduate course credits. |
Registration Information
I. Registration Method and Required Materials:
Complete the online registration on the platform at http://gdufs.17gz.org/ and have your registration number confirmed by email (iie@gdufs.edu.cn) or by phone (+86-20-36207141, 36207142).
II. Application Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Do not have Chinese nationality, hold a valid foreign passport, and comply with the relevant provisions of Letter No. 12 [2020] of the Ministry of Education.
2. Be physically and mentally healthy, and meet the physical examination standards stipulated by the Chinese government for applying for a study visa or residence permit in China. If a student cannot continue their studies due to a sudden illness arising from a concealed health condition, or cannot obtain a visa for personal reasons, the tuition fee will not be refunded.
3. Be friendly to China, abide by Chinese laws, regulations, and university rules, be diligent and eager to learn, have excellent academic performance and good conduct; have no record of disciplinary violations, public security penalties, or criminal offenses. Other conditions deemed necessary according to Chinese laws and university regulations.
4. Language proficiency: For applicants to Chinese-medium Foundation Program, Chinese proficiency must be at least HSK Level 3 or equivalent.
5. Age generally between 18 and 30 years old.
III. Materials Required for Online Registration:
1. Passport personal information page and visa page for China (if any);
2. One-inch color ID photo;
3. High school diploma and transcript (if not in Chinese or English, a notarized Chinese or English version is required);
4. Relevant language proficiency certificates (for Chinese-medium program: HSK certificate or relevant Chinese proficiency proof; for English-medium program: IELTS or TOEFL score report, or relevant English proficiency proof);
5. CSCA Score Report (if available);
6. Certificate of No Criminal Record;
7. Medical Examination Report within the validity period (must be in Chinese or English);
8. Other materials required as per additional notices from the university; the specific notice shall prevail.
IV. Fee Standards (Foundation Program):
